The council has decided to pick up people’s rubbish every two weeks instead of every week and you think this is a bad idea.
Write a letter to the local newspaper. Write 120 words

In your letter you should:
• say what the problem is
• explain why you think this is a bad idea
• say what you’d like the council to do about it

Read the marking criteria and tick the grade you will get.

Marking criteria:
5 Writes about all four points in the task equally. Well organised and clear paragraphs. Both beginning and ending correct. There are only a few grammar and vocabulary mistakes.

4 Writes about all four elements but not enough for each. Mostly well organised, but paragraphs not always logical. Mistakes in the beginning or ending of the letter. Some grammar and vocabulary mistakes.

3 Writes about about two-three elements OR all four but very short. Paragraphs are illogical or missing, beginning and ending incorrect. Frequent spelling and vocabulary mistakes.

2 Writes about one thing OR mentions all but writes very little. Illogical, no paragraphs, beginning and ending missing. So many grammar and vocabulary mistakes that can't understand what the student has wanted to write.

1 Does not write about the topic, has no paragraphs, too short.
