Because of the reporters who fired one question right after another.

It said that they should be separated

Steve accidentally walked into a door and hurt his jaw, but Darry was nearby so he got blamed

Because of nightmares after their parents death

Soda was dejected because he found out that his favorite soda brand was being discontinued.

That Bob’s mom has had a nervous breakdown. That everything happened because his parents spoiled him. Also he told, that he won’t join the rumble because nothing would change
