worksheet for students to help them plan ahead for a project where they drawn on top of a water color wash a planning guide to a themed Self portrait with symbols and patterns. Students will recall artist Remedios Varo and their dream analysis from last class. they will use their dream recall activity to help guide them in coming up with a theme for their portrait then they will chose 3 symbols and draw them and then create 9 patterns that are assigned a personal meaning/emotion. They understand mapping out a face with correct proportions but now will decide what facial distortions best suits their theme.Students will swap theirs plan drawings with another classmate and quickly critique each other. add remedios varos paintings and compare the glow she has in her work to the glow in water color wash. show a step by step on how to make water color washes. include composition ,symmetrical balance and asymmetrical balance. they need to think about how to use color to convey their theme. there should be sequential instructions and areas for students to draw along with examples for themes symbols and patterns. make a checklist for the students too .
